Boomer Esiason wanted to create a fun character to help teach kids about cystic fibrosis. Together with Darren Sanchez and Lee Becker, they created Genie.

Genie the GENE, is the title character when medical issues are the subject matter.

The same character also has a title called Genie the Genius, in which the stories are centered on fun, entertaining general education topics.

The comics are created and written by Darren Sanchez, with help from daughter and co-writer, Emily.

The Genie team at Chicago Comic Con, hand out comics, sign books and greet fans.

On the day, Genie the Genius #1 came out, fans sent in photos (with parent's permission) to show us how much they loved Genie.

Genie t-shirts were a big hit in Chicago!

The whole family reads Gene the Genius.

Big Air is modeled after Jerry Cahill, a real life C.F. patient, spokesperson and inspirational hero... especially to those in the C.F. community. Big Air Jerry is featured in comic books, animation, activity/coloring books, personal appearances and even has his own bobbleheads. Books are given to children's hospitals around the country.
